SEARCH MODE

1. SEARCH MODE

1.1. Presentation

SEARCH MODE is a feature in KM2 that allows users to launch multiple web searches and view the results in a single place.

To use SEARCH MODE, users enter the keywords they want to search for in the command line, then hit the RETURN key. KM2 will then open the web pages and display the search results.

1.2. Modus operandi

Suppose you are looking for a powerpoint file about the life of Gutenberg :
The steps are :
  1. fill the command line and check search boxes appropriately :
  2. Then hit the 'SEARCH WITH FILETYPE' button (the little Earth on the right of the file types).
  3. The KM2 window tracks your search
  4. and in parallel in your browser , Google is launched with the correct request :

1.3. Examples

1.3.1. Example 1

KM2 will help you in remembering your search in an organized way.

Following the search initiated above, we can copy and paste, or drag to xmind the questions and results.
Then using the search and xmind you can construct the following tree :

The tree can then be converted easily into a file with the KM2 processor :
Web search about Gutenberg
        [1]WebQuery
                Request
                        https://www.google.fr/search?num=100&q=gutenberg filetype:ppt
                Results
                        De Gutenberg à l'impression numérique
                                youtube : Introducing the book".
                        Humanisme et Renaissance
        [2]WebQuery
                Request
                        https://www.google.fr/search?num=100&q=printing press filetype:ppt
                Results
DBQ: WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT CONSEQUENCE OF THE PRINTING PRESS

One important idea is that you can reuse exactly the same search multiple times and at any time.
